Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Douglas Shire Council are replacing the existing Daintree River Ferry by November 2027 with a larger/wider 4 lane ferry. To ensure the required efficiency outcomes of traffic movement across the river, there is a requirement to undertake landside infrastructure civil works in respect of the following items:

design from concept drawings
changes to existing traffic lanes
additional traffic lanes
increased traffic queueing lanes and earthworks
road marking and signage
vegetation works and removal
environmental oversight to meet State and Federal environmental legislation and guidelines
pedestrian pathways
car and bus parking areas
relocation of existing ticket booths
electrical and communications ducting and cable supply
ferry boom gates and control systems
street lighting and CCTV operations
conformance testing
riverbanks protection works
ferry landing ramps construction and installation
ferry cable pylons
concrete bund for storage of river dredge materials
winch anchor points for ferry out of water inspections
