Develop and monitor economic and social indicators of NSW Commercial Fisheries.

Project goals

Expert professional services to develop and report on economic and social indicators for NSW commercial fisheries for the 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years that includes seafood and bait supply chain analyses.

Scope

NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is seeking a contractor to complete economic and social indicator analysis and reporting for NSW commercial fisheries for the 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years for each of the nine NSW commercial fisheries and the state as a whole. The nine commercial fisheries are:

• Abalone Share Management Fishery

• Lobster Share Management Fishery

• Estuary General Share Management Fishery

• Estuary Prawn Trawl Share Management Fishery

• Ocean Hauling Share Management Fishery

• Ocean Trap and Line Share Management Fishery

• Ocean Trawl Share Management Fishery

• Sea Urchin & Turban Shell Restricted Fishery, and

• Inland Restricted Fishery

This work will include the collection, analysis and reporting of economic, financial and social information on each fishery and the state as a whole, including seafood and bait supply chain analysis.

The Contractor will be required to report on the following four categories of indicators:

• Fishing Business Financial Indicators

• Fishery Economic Indicators

• Economic Contribution Indicators

• Social Indicators
