Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Respondents for a program of water quality monitoring

Project goals
This program of water quality monitoring includes on-ground sampling and analysis of water samples from eighteen (18) sample points, fifteen (15) of which are open-water bodies within council managed parks and reserves, and three (3) of which are within tributaries of the Georges RiverSample events per year will be 96, totalling 192 sample events for the contract.
Respondents will need to have organisational capacity to perform on-ground sampling as frequent as fortnightly during warmer months across Canterbury-Bankstown local government area. Sites stretch from Canterbury in the east to Lansdowne in the west. Sampling data is then to be analysed in an appropriately equipped laboratory and data entered by the successful respondent into council’s GIS-compatible Konect software. Quarterly water quality reports including site health grades in a provided alphabetised format from A+ (excellent) to F- (poor) are also to be sent to council’s project manager in a simple PDF format.
Council’s objective is to gain baseline water quality data for water bodies and waterways which are directly influenced by internal management practices and can be improved through efficacy measures and natural area restoration work. Operational funding and works for water quality improvement will be best directed once data from this program is gathered and knowledge shared between internal and external catchment management officers.
