Tender Description
The City of Onkaparinga (CoO) seeks the services of a consultant to undertake a rapid native vegetation roadside survey review of 578 km of roadsides within the City of Onkaparinga Council area – comprised of 1322 segments (inspection points). The incorporation of this layer into Council’s GIS system will enable staff to determine the conservation value and vegetation attributes of a particular roadside and will provide important information to support the development of plans and policies related to roadside vegetation management.
Data collected will be used to evaluate ecological value, identify conservation priorities, and assess fire risk.
The prior 2008 dataset will be accessible for reference during the collection and analysis of the current data, facilitating process efficiencies. Numerous segments of roadside vegetation will only require verification to confirm consistency with the vegetation type and condition recorded in 2008.
