Roadside Weed Spraying Service Panel

⁠⁠⁠Mansfield Shire Council is seeking to engage the services of experienced and qualified suppliers to undertake the annual roadside weed spraying service in the Mansfield Shire.

Under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994, Mansfield Shire Council is responsible for weed control along Council managed roads and reserves. Invasive plant and animal species pose a threat to native biodiversity, can significantly harm agricultural production, and contribute to the spread of wildfires.

Every three years, the Mansfield Shire Council forms a panel of contractors to manage weed control, following the Mansfield Shire Council Roadside Weed and Pest Animal Control Plan. The assigned tasks are then distributed annually.

The Mansfield Shire Council invites local accredited businesses to submit quotations of rates for roadside weed spraying within the Mansfield Shire. The primary focus will be on controlling Blackberry and Cape/English Broom, with opportunistic control of St John's Wort, Patterson's Curse, Sweet Briar Rose and other species.
