Traffic Counting 2025 - 2027

⁠⁠⁠Waimakariri District Council is seeking a supplier to provide Traffic Counting services for the District.

The contract will be for the collection of traffic counting data on urban and rural roads within the Waimakariri District.

Counts will be undertaken using the Contractor’s equipment. This equipment should comprise the following:

• Vehicle tube counters, which record vehicle type, direction and speed

• Cycleway tube counters, which record cyclist direction and speed

• Inductive loop counters, which can be used on the Council’s two dual inductive loop sites

Camera based count equipment to record and identify turning movements and vehicle classification at a variety of intersection sites.

The counting programme will be spread evenly throughout the year and will comprise approximately 35 counts per month.
