Levee Construction - National School Lane

Following significant rainfall events between 2010 and 2012 in Castlemaine and its nearby townships, Council has engaged GHD to develop a Flood Management Plan to reduce the impact of flooding. The several levee bank sites were shortlisted for further design development and implementation, which National School Lane was one site.

Stantec was engaged by Mount Alexander Shire Council to undertake the National School Lane velocity levee design in Campbells Creek, Victoria.

The proposed velocity levee was designed to lessen the water levels impact from flood events associated with Campbells Creek. There is an existing levee, therefore, this levee design will be an extension of it, increasing the levee length by 50m.

In order to deliver the velocity levee at National School Lane, we require the services of a suitably qualified and experienced construction contractor to complete the levee works and batter protection measures according to Stantec’s detailed design.

The levee works required will include the following:

- Levee construction

- Batter stabilization

- Vegetation removal
