Online Learning Tools panel is a mandated panel for NSW Public Schools. Online Learning Tool Suppliers must be contracted to the panel to sell their products in NSW Public Schools.

Project goals

DOE is, in this RFT seeking to refresh the established panel to provide opportunity for new suppliers/products to apply for the panel.

The New South Wales Department of Education (DOE) established the Online Learning Tools, with products across the following key learning areas:

• Creative Arts
• English
• HSIE
• Languages
• Mathematics
• PDHPE
• Science
• TAS
• Stem

Scope

Online Learning Tools are online learning digital tools such as programs, or other technology that are wholly or partially provided over the Internet. They include functionality that:

• allows a student to access educational content, including exercises and games. The content may or may not have been created by the student’s teacher
• assists a teacher to present information to students
• is designed for students to create and/or share content in connection with their learning
• is intended to improve student behaviour;
• allows teachers to provide educational materials to students and communicate with students. It might include functionality that allows teachers to communicate with a student’s parents, guardians or caregivers;
• enables teachers to design and assign assessment tasks, including examinations, to measure students' understanding of the curriculum and their achievement levels.

The requirements, response documents and Agreement have been prepared on the basis that the Online Learning Tools will be used by DOE schools. DOE will refine the requirements and make reasonable changes to the Agreement to accommodate any use of the panel by non-public schools.

DOE intends to make the panel mandatory for DOE schools. DOE schools will not be able to purchase or use Online Learning Tools, unless it is from an appointed panel vendor and the Online Learning Tool is approved to be offered by that vendor under the panel.
