Playground Renewals FY24/25

⁠⁠⁠Kāpiti Coast District Council (KCDC) is seeking 2 suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers to provide:

- Design, supply, and installation of playground equipment.

- Project and site management services.

- Associated documentation including drawings, certification, and operations & maintenance manuals.

Please note that Mike’s Bobcats Limited – a local contractor, has been engaged to provide:

- Sustainable removal of existing equipment and excess excavated materials

- Earthworks

- Site remediation

For any cultural design concepts, we will engage and contract local Iwi/Māori artists.

Whilst this RFP is focussed on a proposal for the identified FY24/25 playgrounds, the contract that will be offered will have 2 further extension options of a year each. This is a potential 3-year contract for works exceeding $2million.

We are seeking a primary supplier and a secondary supplier. The primary supplier will receive the bulk of the playground renewals over the 3-year period, subject to meeting budget, timeline, and performance expectations. The secondary supplier will receive at least 1 playground renewal per financial year.

Prior to each renewal period, a performance review will be conducted by KCDC to determine if the primary supplier will remain the primary supplier, or the secondary supplier will be promoted to primary supplier.
