The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide has highlighted the importance of timely and accurate data for monitoring and responding to the needs and wellbeing of veterans. While the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) has significant data assets that are being leveraged support this, and is utilizing many key analytics and modelling technologies and approaches, we do not have a mature and consistent methodology in place for the presentation and display of these results and findings.

DVA is seeking an experienced partner to help improve our data capabilities by assisting in building out a data visualization strategy, to clearly outline the way in which data visualization is to be undertaken in DVA. This includes defining publishing best practice, standard templates and styles, streamlining of outputs from models and analytics software into visualization tools and the creation of broad reusable visualization assets.

This is of significant importance to ensure a consistent approach is made to any visualizations and dashboards developed and that there are appropriate templates, caveats, documentation and permissions applied. This will enable a much improved end user experience with consistent, reliable and meaningful results (irrespective of source or business area) and will help facilitate a broad uplift in data literacy across the department.

Support is required by DVA for the creation of a written Data Visualization Style guide to support the Department's Data Visualization Strategy.

High-level requirements include:

-Review existing data visualization assets and relevant frameworks and engage with stakeholders within DVA to ascertain requirements and current state

-Collaborate with the project team

-Deliver a draft Data Visualization Style guide to business owners and key stakeholders for feedback and input

-Deliver a finalized Data Visualization Style guide incorporating feedback and Project Lead signoff
