Erub Island Reservoir Refurbishment

⁠⁠⁠Torres Strait Island Regional Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for remedial works on the Erub (Darnley) Island Water Reservoir.

The remedial works involved in the Works Under Contract include but are not limited to:

• Site measurements to confirm all relevant dimensions

• Supply and operation of all required plant, machinery and equipment as necessary to undertake the works on the water reservoir tank for the full duration of the works.

• Development of management plans, approvals and all necessary documentation to meet the project requirements for environmental, OH&S and project quality;

• Mobilisation to site.

• Provision of safe access to all surfaces, components and members that require treatment or replacement.

• Temporary removal or relocation of items that may be damaged during execution of the works. This shall include but not be limited to solar panels, telemetry infrastructure and chlorine monitoring equipment.

• Removal and disposal of debris in reservoir including costs associated with the Waste Levy.

• Supply, erection and removal of all temporary works (scaffolding, Work Platforms, temperature controls, etc), as necessary to undertake the works on the reservoir for the full duration of works.

• Removal of the existing roof sheeting, roof purlins, vermin proofing and support members around the full perimeter on top of the concrete reservoir wall.

• The existing steel roof beam and columns can remain but will require to be coated as per the technical specification

• Removal of the existing external and internal ladder, and access platform.

• Removal of redundant items such as fixtures, fittings and fasteners

• Repair of damage where redundant items have been removed.

• High pressure cleaning and decontamination of all concrete surfaces

• Detailed inspection and quantification of all external defects to be treated.

• Removal of delaminated concrete where corrosion induced cracking is observed.

• Removal of existing grout blocks and construction of new grout blocks around cable anchors.

• Exposing of sound reinforcing steel and installation of new reinforcing as required

• Install epoxy mortar concrete spalling repairs.

• Paint external reservoir surface.

• Design, documentation and certification (By RPEQ Engineer) for replacement roof structure

• Development of shop drawings for all steel, stainless steel and aluminium components

• Fabrication and installation of new components and members associated with the roof, including vermin proofing.

• Placement of a ladder plinth for the new ladders.

• Design, documentation and certification of new external and internal ladder, and roof access platform.

• Fabrication and installation of a new external and internal ladder, and roof access platform.

• Design, supply and installation of internal liner.

• Reinstallation of temporarily removed items.

• Certification of works by RPEQ engineer engaged by the Contractor

• Coordinate commissioning of remediated reservoir with TSIRC Engineering Management.

• Sanitise and undertake leak testing of the repaired reservoir.

• Decommission and remove temporary tank farm from site. Tanks to be repurposed by TSIRC.

• Removal of all material to be disposed of, off site a waste facility on Mainland Australia

• Clean up and demobilise from site.

• Handover of completed works including as built records, manuals, etc.

• Maintenance of works through defects liability period

• Any other item included in the contract documents and not detailed above.
