Provision of Legal Services

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited and will be received up to 2pm Tuesday 18 June 2024 for:

City of Newcastle seeks to appoint 2 panels of external legal service providers, each on a non-exclusive basis, with 1 panel providing advice and representation in Land & Environment Court of NSW matters and the other providing advice and assistance in general legal matters across all of City of Newcastle's directorates.

Each of the above panels will be valid for an initial period of 1 year, with an option to extend on a 1 year plus 1 year basis for a period of 3 years in total.

CN has an internal legal services unit who from time to time will seek external specialist advice and representation in legal matters from service providers. Legal service providers with transactional and/or litigation expertise in one or more of the following areas of law are invited to submit a tender:

- Administrative Law;

- Planning and Environment;

- Regulatory and Compliance;

- Government (with a focus on Local Government);

- Property;

- Commercial; and

- Projects and Construction.

(NOTE: Industrial relations and employment law matters are excluded from this tender.)

Responsibility for lodgement by the deadline lies solely with the tenderer. Lodgement information is provided in the tender document. Council is not bound to accept the lowest tender or any tender submitted.
