AgriFutures is seeking to improve the workplace safety, culture and approach to managing workload in the workplace. This is a 12-month contract to provide a range of workplace support services to AgriFutures Australia.
Background
The range of workplace support services to AgriFutures Australia requested in this RFQ includes:
1. Policy Reviews- Complete a review of selected workplace policies and processes contained in the People and Culture Policy Handbook.
- Review amendments made to specific WHS policy and process documents to ensure recommendations arising from recent legal review have been sufficiently implemented
- Review several existing key workplace policy and procedures, associated training materials and guidance, and development and delivery of training programs, that can be utilised for ongoing use within AgriFutures.
- Be an independent point of contact for staff to utilise (either face to face or remotely) to discuss sensitive topics or seek advice on any workplace issue, including (but not limited to) issues arising from workload. This may require accessibility outside of normal work hours.
- Increase awareness of psychosocial hazards and provide education to AgriFutures
- Develop a standardised survey that AgriFutures can utilise annually and as pulse surveys, that can be benchmarked against a similar cohort of organisations for reporting to Leadership and Directors.
- Management recognises that many people are at or near capacity and acknowledge that there are barriers to staff raising workload issues. Therefore, a change management approach is required to review current escalation processes and advise how this process could be made easier for staff.
- Understand workload concerns and help develop solutions to address these concerns.
- Provision of specialist change management services to assist in the improvement of workplace culture, and how AgriFutures approaches workload in the workplace, including how AgriFutures scopes, plans and resources work.
- Review the intake of work and develop strategies and tools on how to decline or deprioritise existing work.
- Recommend and/or develop a measurement tool to measure both existing and future workload.
- Review flexible working policies, and application of process across the business to ensure current practices are fit for purpose, and applied consistently across the business
- Recommend and/or provide compulsory people management training course/s that all managers at AgriFutures should undertake
- Assist management to create core competencies for all people managers to attain “What AgriFutures expects of people managers”
- Recommend and/or provide training for staff on workload management skills
- Recommend and/or provide training for managers on how to support management of the workload process and build trust and support across the business.
