Concrete and Asphalt Sawing, Coring and Grinding

⁠⁠⁠General Requirement

1. The purpose of this Request for Tender is to establish a preferred panel of contractors to perform part or all of the following services on an “as required” basis throughout the term of the agreement:

(a) Concrete Sawing Services

(b) Asphalt Sawing Services

(c) Concrete & Asphalt Coring Services

(d) Concrete Footpath Grinding Services

2. Through this tender process Council will establish an approved panel of Contractors, ranked in order of preference based on the evaluation criteria.

3. Council has the right to select contractors to provide part of or all the services.

Duty of Care

1. All staff performing the required Services must be trained in the use of all equipment and in safe chemical handling procedures.

2. Work Health & Safety issues relating to chemical safety and manual handling must be observed by the Contractor at all times during the performance of the Service.

Price Schedules

1. Tenderers are required to complete the Price Schedules, as included in the Schedules in Appendix 3. All rates are to be shown exclusive of GST and are to include the cost of the whole of the machinery; wages; materials; services; travel; and other incidentals associated with or necessary for the execution of the work and the performance of the obligations of the Contractor under this Contract.

Specific Requirements

1. All work is to be performed in accordance with all relevant Australian Standards and Work Cover requirements.

2. Discharge of Slurry and Dust from sawing, coring and grinding process to comply with EPA Regulations & Standards. Unit rate shall also include the above controlled measures.

Extent and Range of Services

1. Concrete Sawing depth range 25mm – 400mm

2. Asphalt Sawing depth range 25mm – 300mm

3. Hand Sawing in Concrete 25mm – 200mm

4. Hand Sawing in Asphalt 25mm – 200mm

5. Kerb and Gutter Cut – Standard 150mm Kerb & Gutter

6. Concrete Core Drilling diameter from 25mm to 500mm

7. Asphalt Core Drilling diameter from 25mm to 500mm

8. Concrete Footpath Grinding up to 30mm depth. The grind is to extend far enough to make a smooth transition with adjoining concrete surface.

Note: Rates should include all labour, equipment, consumables & travel for work performed in the Penrith Local Government Area.
