Background
Aurora College in Invercargill is receiving a major capital works project upgrade to their campus. Blocks B is forecast to stay beyond the date of the capital works project.
The building is exhibiting signs of historic weathertightness failures. Thes include:
- Failure at the join of the south side of the braced wall on the south side of auditorium. (Around the cracks in the braced wall and a lack of a flashing at the timber concrete veneer junction).
- High level windowsill failures to the east and west side of the auditorium
- Failure to the roofing membrane around the auditorium
- Interior damage to wall linings.
The Project Scope is:
- Relace the membrane roofing.
- Repair the south side braced wall and install flashings
- Replace flashings to the high level windows
- Replace damaged interior linings.,
