We need to sensitively harvest and log the exotic woodlot on our recently acquired piece of land next to the Joe Gibbs Scenic Reserve in Inglewood. The reserve site is in an urban area in Inglewood, with neighboring private and commercial properties, as well as a significant natural waterbody (Kurapete stream). It is also next to the state highway and runs parallel to the rail reserve. We are undertaking to remove some trees on behalf of Kiwirail on the rail corridor.

The removal of exotic trees will enable the native understorey to get established and then be supplemented through planting projects delivered through the Council's Planting Our Place programme.
