The University will soon release a tender for - Indium Evaporator (WS1891708359).

The University is looking to purchase an Indium Evaporator tailored for Quantum applications which is required for the Research and Prototype Foundry (RPF) Core Research Facility (CRF) to increase capability. The Indium Evaporator will feature dedicated indium film deposition chamber, guaranteeing the creation of high-quality, reproducible film depositions within ultra-high vacuum environments, safeguarded against cross-contamination. This system is vital for addressing both present and future research needs, especially in the device packaging phase of assembling a qubit for readout. This system will be used to support many researchers, research initiatives and industry partners.

Some mandatory requirements of this tender are:

1. Participant must have an existing installed base of Indium Evaporators in similar esteemed research and development focused institutions in University or industrial settings.

2. Participant must have existing trained support engineers and service department able to support the system which will be located in Sydney Australia

3. Some system requirements are;

a. 1 thermal evaporation chamber for high quality indium deposition with non-uniformity (±3% over 150 mm wafers

b. Argon ion mill capability or other surface preparation technique for sample precleaning

c. 150mm wafer handling platform with capability to mount smaller samples

d. Quartz crystal sensors for thickness tracking

e. Substrate temperature control including cooling to below -60 degrees Celsius

The tender will be released during the 1st week in April 2024 and be open for 4 weeks
