The Contractor shall carry out the complete fit out works for the Customs House interior renewal - ground floor in accordance with this request including the Drawings and Specifications provided.

Customs House building ("the Site") is located at 31 Alfred Street, Sydney 2000. Customs House is a landmark building constructed in the 1840s and contains Visitor Information centre, the Customs House Library, hireable events and co-working spaces and restaurant.

The ground floor of Customs House is an attraction for visitors to Sydney due to its proximity to the tourist gateway of Circular Quay, the City Model and the building's historical significance.

No major upgrade of the ground floor has occurred since 2005 and the ground floor is underutilised and the front tenancies currently unoccupied.

The City has offered basic visitor information services in the ground floor foyer since 2018. The closure of the state run Visitor Information Centre during COVID provided an opportunity to enhance this visitor services offering at Customs House.

The Contractor and any of its subcontractors must be suitably qualified and experienced with delivery of interior fitout works within heritage significant buildings. The Contractor must complete the works within the stipulated time frame in order to reopen the tourist information area before the start of Sydney's tourist season.
