Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) requires a suitably experienced and qualified contractor to supply and deliver material required on Renwick Road in Proserpine for the upgrade of the existing concrete footpath. The work will commence in May 2024 and is scheduled to finish in October 2024, weather dependent.

Council is responsible for maintaining and identifying areas that need improvement on Whitsunday Regional Council’s Principal Cycle Network Plan. Renwick Road goes through a school zone. With three schools in the area as well as a family daycare, this section was listed as a high priority on the Principal Cycle Network Plan.

The mandate of the project is driven by the above factors to upgrade the existing concrete footpath by replacing the open drain channels with box culverts. This project will improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists by widening the existing concrete footpaths in Renwick Road between Gardenia Street & Stanbury Street.
