Tender Description

The Council of the City of Sydney (City) invites tenders to undertake Public Lighting, Electrical Maintenance & Installation Works throughout the Local Government Area (LGA) in accordance with this Tender.

The City is looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Contractor based on a schedule of rates pricing model.

The City is responsible for maintaining a safe and functional Lighting System and to repair and replace damaged or non-functioning Lighting System components, preventive maintenance services to switchboards, conduits and City-owned electrical components.

Remediation of defects, removal and replacement of luminaires and smart control components, brackets, fuse components, circuit breakers, reactive maintenance activities, incident response, and routine maintenance are typical instances of the kinds of maintenance works carried out by the City.

The City has several major strategies and action plans across the organisation for the delivery of maintenance services and public domain asset management. The successful alignment with these strategies and plans with our delivery partners will require the following:

  • Upgrade, repair and replacement of approximately 12,000 City-owned public domain lights.
  • Maintenance of 200km of electrical cable,
  • Maintenance of electrical switchboards, cabinets, associated conduits, pits, poles and other electrical assets.
  • Bulk replacement of existing luminaires at end-of-service life with energy efficient LED luminaires and smart controls.
  • Interrogate the smart control system for identification of faults and defects and carry out all repairs in accordance with established service levels

Tenderers must submit their responses to this Request for Tender in the manner required by this document.

Periodic inspection, testing, servicing and condition assessment of the City's public domain lighting and associated electrical infrastructure assets to better inform renewal programs, provide improved asset management and to meet legislative requirements.
