Tender Description

The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites tenders for the carrying out of Minor Landscape Works in accordance with this Request for Tender.

The City's Parks

The City of Sydney manages over 350 parks and open spaces across 210 hectares. The City's parks and open space is one of the City's most important social, economic and environmental assets, with an asset value over $550 million.

The parks and open space network cater for a wide range of passive and active recreational activities, with the City dedicated to providing equitable access to park assets across the city. Parks include historically significant Victorian style parks, contemporary parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and bushland and wetland areas.

The City has developed a reputation for excellence in the maintenance of its parks and the delivery of park renewal and upgrade projects to maintain excellence and respond to the community.

Minor Landscape Works and Services Panel Scope

The Minor Landscape Works and Services Panel Contract (The Panel) is being established to carry out various Projects within the City of Sydney Local Government Area under the City's Parks and Open Space Renewal and Capital Programs.

The focus of the Minor Landscape Works and Services Panel Contract is to deliver renewal and upgrade projects.

Under this engagement, Contractors will be responsible for the administration, investigation, design, construction and establishment of landscape and associated works to the City's parks and open space.

Projects delivered under the Panel will be varied and range from complete renewal or upgrades of Pocket Parks or landscaped streetscapes to renewal or upgrades of discrete areas or assets within Neighbourhood or Iconic parks.

The scope of works includes but is not limited to:

  • Landscape architecture and landscape design and investigation.
  • Civil, geotechnical, environmental and structural engineering design and investigation
  • Surveying and service location
  • Demolition, removal and site preparation
  • Paving and concreting
  • Brickwork and Stonework
  • Carpentry
  • Drainage works and plumbing.
  • Installation of furniture and fixtures
  • Coordination, installation and construction of playgrounds
  • Planting and soft landscaping
  • Park turfing and
  • Plant and turf establishment.

The Contract is a Schedule of Rates Contract for an initial 3-year period with an option to extend for another 3-year period.

Tenderers must demonstrate that they have the capacity and resources to deliver the program they are tendering for, including when they intend to use subcontractors.

The City will assess all tender submissions based on value for money considering both qualitative criteria and overall cost.

Tenderers must submit tenders in the manner required by this RFT.
