Tender Description
The Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES) requires a panel of providers who can support DFES operations at emergencies. This includes earthmoving equipment, water tankers and mobile refuelling facilities for utilisation at emergencies. The use of earthmoving equipment includes but is not limited to cutting fire breaks, shifting sand at hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents or removing debris or rubble at structural fires. Water tankers will be utilised by firefighters at incidents for additional supplies of water. Mobile refueling facilities will be used in emergency operations to replenish fuels to vehicles involved if no other source of fuel is located nearby.
The contract will include scope to place providers on standby for days where DFES consider there to be a high incident risk, particularly public holidays during fire season. The contract will also cover clean-up and post incident activities.
DFES will seek to enter into contracts with multiple Contractors across all Regions of the state as part of a "panel" arrangement.
