Whitsunday Regional Council (Principal) are undertaking an upgrade of the Collinsville Swimming Pools (Project), located at 38 Conway Street, Collinsville Qld 4804.

The Collinsville Swimming Pool (Site) consists of:

a) One (1) x a large 33 m long x 12 m wide swimming pool; and

b) One (1) x kidney shape toddler swimming pool.

Tender Schedule 1 - Principal Project Requirements (PPR) details specific requirements for the design and construction of the Project. The Contractor must supply all labour, materials, plant and equipment, expertise, and disbursements required to undertake and complete the Project in accordance with the Contract.

The works under this Contract covered in the PPR are to complete design and construct the upgrade of the Collinsville Swimming pools.

The general scope of works include:

a) Conversion of the existing large swimming pool to accommodate a 25-meter competition-grade pool. 

The Works include the detailed design and installation of a bulkhead to convert the large swimming pool to facilitate use as a 25-meter competition pool in accordance with Clause 2.2 of the PPR. The remaining section at the western end of the pool will be retained and used as a shallow pool and utilise the existing pool pumping and filtration system. The competition pool must meet the requirements of the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) for use a competition pool, including new access, and be certified by a suitably qualified person (Registered Professional FINA); and

b) Pool Retiling and Leak Rectification

The Works include:

i. The removal and replacement all internal pool tiles, including the damaged tiles around the exterior perimeter of the pool, refer to Appendix A;

ii. Rectification of any damage or cracks in the concrete, either existing or caused by the removal of the tiles;

iii. Replacement of the internal inlet/outlet pipe covers; and

iv. Remove and replace the expansion joints for both the large and toddler swimming pools in accordance with Clause 2.4 of the PPR.

The construction works must be completed during the Winter months closure,1 May to 31 August 2024.
