Karnet Prison Farm plays a vital role in the prison system as a working farm, producing primary food products, for internal consumption within Western Australia?s public correctional facilities whilst simultaneously providing work for minimal security prisoners.

Karnet Prison Farm?s on-site abattoir supplies 100% of the required red meat and pork (procured as pork cuts under a separate contract) requirements of all prisons across the State, reflecting the importance of the abattoir?s role in the provision of food supply within prisons.

To ensure the ongoing supply and delivery of live cattle for regular processing through the abattoir, Karnet Prison Farm requires a Contractor to supply the appropriate livestock.

Cattle are ordered regularly and are to be delivered shortly prior to their slaughter (currently cattle are typically slaughtered the day after delivery) and a reliable continuous supply of livestock is required.
