Supplier Registration for upcoming Tender - Twin Screw Extruder

⁠⁠⁠The University will soon release a tender for Twin Screw Extruder (WS1618200620).

The University is looking to acquire a twin-screw extruder for the development of new food products, to translate lab-bench discoveries into commercial production. We aim to establish an in-house capability for pilot-scale texturization to facilitate the successful transition of laboratory-scale food development to the market. This twin-screw extruder will be used to process pulse concentrates obtained through dry fractionation for process development of a wide range of texturized vegetable protein products and is expected to be capable of performing wet extrusion and granulation.

Some mandatory requirements of this tender are:

1. Participant must have existing trained support engineers and service department located within Sydney

2. The extruder must:

a. Capable of processing small-sized samples for small-scale lab research, starting at 100g. (Extruder output: 0.1-18 kg/h approx.)

b. Extruder Dimensions (LxWxH): 1230 x 690 x 1120 mm

c. Barrel diameter:16 mm

d. Barrel length: 40/LD

e. Diameter ratio Do/Di: 1.73

f. Extruder Weight: <200kg

g. Power: 3 x 400V 25A

h. Pressure max.: 100 bar

i. Torque max.: 36 Nm

j. Screw speed: 10-1000 rpm

k. Screw type: Fully segmented, co-rotating

l. Temperature: 350°C

The tender will be released in the first half of March 2024 and be on open for 3 weeks
