Supplier Registration for upcoming Tender - Mouse Metabolics System

⁠⁠⁠The University is looking to purchase a mouse metabolic cage system for the CPC Laboratory Animal Services (LAS) facility. This will replace an existing dysfunctional system and provide higher animal throughput. We will be looking to establish a 5-year contract that includes ongoing service support to ensure optimal performance of the system.

Some mandatory requirements of this tender are:

1. Participant must have an existing installed base of mouse metabolic cage systems within Australia

2. Participant must have existing trained support engineers and service department located within Australia who can travel to Sydney for service calls either same day or next-day

3. The equipment must have:

a) 16 cage system for mice or rats to measure with high accuracy and temporal resolution their O2 consumption and CO2 production.

b) Mobile cage racks to accommodate the 16-cage system and allow mobility by use of wheeled racks.

c) Analysis of mouse activity within the cage such as speed and direction.

d) Training - onsite, video recording with permission; Tenderer to provide 5 full-day applications training for staff within 1 month of installation at an agreed time. Repeated applications training during first year of installation at two time points during the 12-month period.

e) 2024 deliver and install. Equipment needs to be installed at the CPC LAS at a time designated by the University.

f) Manufacturer warranty for a minimum 12 months from the acceptance.

g) Options for extended warranty - Service agreement costs are to be specified on the contract for 5 years post-purchase (4 years' service agreement + 1 year warranty).

The tender will be released in the last week of February 2024 and be open for 4 weeks
