The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development's Katanning Research Station (KRS) requires a replacement tractor for the McCormick tractor that is essential to sowing the cropping and pasture program at KRS. Annually, KRS sows 400-800ha to produce pastures and supplementary feed for research sheep.

This tractor serves multiple purposes on farm and is also used to move hay bales from paddock to storage, being the most powerful tractor onsite it is able to tow 2.5 tonnes of hay reducing the time this task would take with a smaller tractor. It is also used for general farm maintenance such as slashing paddocks and grading internal roads.
