Purpose

Hunter Water has over 400 Emergency Relief Structures (ERS) in its sewer network, only a portion of these locations are currently monitored directly or via monitoring at wastewater pumping stations.

These structures are intended to provide a directed overflow point when excessive stormwater enters the system. However, overflows can also occur in dry weather when there is a pipe blockage or other system failure. For locations without dedicated monitoring, Hunter Water only becomes aware of the issue from a customer notification or complaint. This may result in an overflow occurring for an extended duration, impacting the environment and, in some situations, regulatory requirements.

This request for tender is for supply, connection, installation, and maintenance of level monitoring sensors at specified ERS locations in Hunter Waters network, including a portal to view and managed device data and alarms.

The tender is presented as two separable portions. Tenderers may wish to make a submission for either or both portions for the scope.

The separable portions are:

1. Supply and connection to portal (bench testing) of devices

2. Installation and ongoing maintenance of devices

Hunter Water may award both portions of work to a single contractor or individual portions to separate contractors.

Duration of Contract

The Contract period will be for an initial period of two (2) years, with options for Hunter Water to extend the Contract for two (2) further periods of one (1) year each (2+1+1) at its sole discretion, based on performance over the awarded period.

Key Deliverable Dates

All devices, hardware, and accessories to be provided within 1 month of award of Contract.

Web portal to be operational within 6 months of award of Contract.

Initial installation of devices to be completed within 6 months of award of Contract.
