Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) requires a suitably experienced and qualified contractor to supply and deliver gravel material on Council's rural road network in localities around Bowen. The work will commence in April 2024.

Council is responsible for the maintenance of an extensive network of unsealed rural roads including roads of varying geometric standards, widths, and pavement types. These roads are generally located in rural or remote localities with limited access locally sourced gravel pits that meets the required standards. The impacted assets form an integral part of the Council Road network and provide motorists, commercial transport, and essential services access to the furthest extent of the Council Region in most weather conditions.

This works comprises the supply and delivery of the gravel material for the following Separable Portions:

a) Separable Portion 1 - Mount Aberdeen Road - approximately 5,092 tonne;

b) Separable Portion 2 - Sneaky Hills Road - approximately 3,567 tonne; and

c) Separable Portion 3 - Thurso Road - approximately 9,461 tonne.
