Whangarei District Council (WDC) intend to construct a new 240 metre long public concrete stormwater pipeline along Sorrento Street, Onerahi. This work will include construction of new catchpits, pipes and manholes. The project is to improve the existing network capacity for primary flows, and to reduce ongoing flooding.

The design and the technical specifications are being prepared by Beca. Consents are not required. Detailed design will be completed for stage two of this tender, the request for price. Please note that design changes may occur to the drawings included in this EOI, as part of the completion of detailed design.

The process will be a two staged process:

1. Expression of Interest (EOI) Open market

2. Request for Price (RFP) Shortlisted suppliers

This EOI is the first formal step in the process and is intended to be of minimal effort for respondents and allow WDC to create a short list of suppliers to invite to enter the RFP process.

It is WDC's intention for construction to start in April 2024, with works completed by July 2024.
