The New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) is seeking to appoint a supplier to complete a spatial plan for Waitara by appropriately qualified spatial planners.

We are looking for a spatial plan that is a 30+ year strategy that sets the strategic direction for the Waitara community and that forms the basis for co-ordination of decision-making, infrastructure, services, and investment.

Spatial plans are a means of aligning other council plans, as well as providing a visual illustration of the intended future location, form and mix of residential, rural, and business areas, along with critical transport and infrastructure required to service those areas and any relevant environmental constraints (for example, natural hazards).

We are looking for planners with experience in co-design and engagement with tangata whenua and high-quality engagement with regional scale communities. We want best practice, relevant past successes and track record, risk and innovation in your concept, and methodology should include proactive co-design responses with tangata whenua and community.
