Tender Description

The works scope covers the replacement of the existing structures on Jingellic Road. The existing structures are to be upgraded to current structural requirements and to conform to current standard regarding lane width.

The construction will need to be staged with a temporary travel lanes constructed to maintain 24 hour access to the upper Murray region. Due to these structures being in proximity to each other it is intended that the letting of these works as a single contract will allow the co-ordination of traffic phasing and construction activities.

The works takes place under conditions imposed and enforced by Fisheries NSW. Contractors are advised to familiarize themselves with the terms of the Work on Waterway Permit and to ensure that their intended construction sequence will adhere to the relevant permit conditions. Mitigation measures may include disproportionate amounts of silt fencing, the temporary utilization of a low-flow diversion pipe, and sandbag coffer dams.

RCBC units will be supplied by Council in late 2023 and will be onsite in proximity to the works area.

Tenderers should note that a number of additional RCBC units have been provided for both Fish Creek and Scent Bottle Creek. These are to allow the successful tenderer the option of utilising these units to provide a temporary side track which can be removed on completion of the permanent works.

Council have NOT provided such units for the Spring Creek works. Contractors must provide their own method of incorporating a temporary side track into the works. Options may include the provision of a Bailey bridge, multi cell RCP structure or utilising RCBC units intended for the other structures to provide a low level side track. If the RCBC option is intended then Council will accept a narrowing of the fish passage to allow the use of the smaller RCBC units.
