Tender Description

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) serves as the governing body for public transport services across New South Wales (NSW). It is responsible for delivering transport services, including rail, bus networks, road and maritime transport, ferry operations, and integrated transport solutions.

Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system and to make NSW a better place to live, work and visit. The organization is committed to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Our people are expected to behave by following the Transport Code of Conduct and our commercial partners must comply with the Code to do business with us.

Context on the Information, Research, and Subscription Services

Transport for NSW is committed to ensuring that its procurement practices align to deliver optimal value for money to the New South Wales public. This involves not only the recruitment and promotion of individuals possessing the right skills but also, providing them with the means to grow their professional skills and the necessary tools and information to deliver high-quality advice and insights to enhance overall productivity and service quality. A key aspect of this strategy is ensuring that the right technology is in place, facilitating efficiency and innovation, easy access to training, diverse information, research, and market insights.

We are seeking information regarding subscription services that encompass a broad gamut of content; examples of the various forms of information and resources that are (not limited) to annual, quarterly, and monthly industry and risk management reports in multiple areas/fields, best practices, market research, trends on emerging technologies (AI, cybersecurity, etc.), workforce, people and culture development, marketing, communications, auditing, webinars, educational resources, news articles, industry roundtables and networking events.

Furthermore, we value the opportunity to tap into expertise available through these services, including advice and consultative.

Our current commercial structures and pricing models are enterprise, corporate memberships, pay-for-service, and individual and team levels consultative. We are eager to identify (any) other pricing models and how potential respondents would enhance the user experience and data content.

A multifaceted approach ensures that Transport for NSW remains well-informed, agile, and capable of making informed decisions that align with its overarching mission of delivering exceptional value to the public. In addition, the market-sounding will enrich our procurement category strategies to enhance organizational capabilities and contribute to the continued success of our mission; to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system for the people of NSW.

Services breakdown

The information, and research subscription services provide data in various downloadable formats (Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). The data is in reports, market research, webinars, educational resources, networking events, news articles, and participation in industry roundtables. Also, access to expertise, including advice and consultancy, further enriches the capabilities of our professionals.

The estimated segmentation of the services is largely market data (self-service) at 65%, conference, and training at 15%, offered in the AEDT time zone, and advisory/consultative at 10%. The advisory/consultative usage provides suggestions to tailor aspirational strategies to the right audience while displaying business acumen. And qualitative at 10%. Qualitative research emphasizes the creation of rich, detailed descriptions of phenomena under study. This focus on depth over breadth helps users capture the complexity of human experiences and social and market facts.

Users of the Information, Research, and Subscription Services

Information, research, and subscription services play a vital role in developing our employees and achieving positive outcomes for the residents of NSW. The services offer a wealth of knowledge on procurement trends, market insights, research reports, best practices, AI and emerging technologies, cyber security information, workforce trends; recruitment, diversity, learning and development; and developments in people and culture-related aspects.

Over 10,000 of our skilled professionals across disciplines such as procurement, ICT, legal, finance, project and risk management, and others use the information, research, and subscriptions to support the delivery of high-quality strategies and project implementations.

Use of market-sounding findings

The market-sounding will enrich our procurement category strategies with the current subscription services trends and insights which in turn will deliver informed decisions that align with the overall business strategies.

In addition, the findings will increase our understanding of the landscape in terms of new added value services, the accuracy and in-depth of the information and sources, and the platforms to access this information. In the event of a sourcing activity in the future, the information gathered will be valuable.

We want to emphasize that participation in this market-sounding activity is designed to be fair and impartial. It neither advantages nor disadvantages any participant in subsequent procurement or business dealings.
