Toowoomba Region Parking Strategy 2024-2029

⁠⁠⁠The existing Toowoomba City Centre Car Parking Strategy was implemented in 2019 to address the requirements at that time. However, since then, there have been changes in population, business activities and transportation patterns, as well as growing interest in how Council manages parking across the region not just within the City Centre. These changes have highlighted various limitations with the current strategy which Council now seeks to address.

Given these challenges, a revision of the Toowoomba parking strategy is necessary. The aim is to develop a more efficient, user-friendly, and sustainable system that meets the current and future needs of the community. This revision will involve a comprehensive review and analysis of parking demand and utilization, both for the CBD area and at other potential parking precincts within the city of Toowoomba, and region. Consideration of accessibility requirements and emerging technologies, as well as exploration of innovative solutions to maximize the use of available parking space will be required.
