AAD Exchange Engineer (Urgent)

⁠⁠⁠Short-term On-Premises Exchange engagement

The AAD are currently partway through a migration of On-Premises Exchange 2013 to 2019.

Assistance is sought for the short-term engagement of a suitably experienced On-Premises Exchange engineer to complete the following scope of work:

On-Premises Exchange 2013 uplift to 2019

1. Identify and document remaining tasks to complete the migration from 2013 to 2019 at the Kingston site
2. Review of underlying storage environment
3. Check configuration of VMWare VMs/datastores, and NetApp SAN is optimised for Exchange storage requirements – advise if and what changes are required for optimal performance.
4. Optimize transfer speed of mailbox moves – identify if there is a faster method than the one currently being used
5. Calculate remaining transfer time, produce an ETA figure for completion date
6. Review current Exchange architecture and configuration
7. Diagnose current issues:

               Inconsistent experience, failures, adding mail on mobile devices

               Dropouts of external OWA sessions

     8. Identify and document tasks to upgrade Exchange servers on Antarctic Station sites Upgrade template of what is required for each station, possibly assist in upgrading one site as POC for AAD to then complete the others

      9. Future state preparation, 2019 to 365

1. Produce a roadmap for AAD migration to 365 post-May 2024 when parent organization DCCEEW expected to have its own 365 tenancy
2. Options for hybrid/cached mailboxes at Stations if Kingston on 365
3. This may not be necessary if a localised instant messaging system is available at each station
4. Nice to have:

         -Options for potential instant messaging systems that can operate at each site (and potentially on Icebreaker ship Nuyina, potentially a portable discrete system) independently if external links go down

We would like an estimate of hours and cost, and details of the engineer’s experience in this area, i.e., resume, or summary of experience with Exchange On-Premises.
