The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to undertake a high-level approach to market of Data Centre providers to see what options are available for the provision of Data Centre services for the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.

The users and their needs

Background

The ACIC ICT Infrastructure operates out of two Canberra based managed data centres.

The contract for one of these locations is set to expire in June 2024.

ACIC is approaching the market to enter into a new ten-year contract for the provision of managed data centre services.

It should be noted that the incumbent provider will also be approached to respond.

Locations Requirements

ACIC is only being able to support Canberra based data centres. As the two ACIC Data Centres are required to provide resiliency to ACIC operations there are concerns that localised incident could take out both data centres if they were to close. For these reasons the following mandatory location requirements apply:

• Must be based within the Canberra Region
• Must be more than 5km from 470 Northbourne Avenue
