Sponsorship / Partnership Contractor 2024 Port Douglas Carnivale

⁠⁠⁠Douglas Shire Council invites responses from suitably qualified respondents to serve as Sponsorship and Partnership contractor to oversee, develop and engage a range of sponsorship and partnership contracts for the 2024 Port Douglas Carnivale. The successful contractor will be contracted for a period of approximately six months, from December 2023 to June 2024. The successful contractor will help shape the corporate and business relationships for the event by way of securing financial commitment for the Carnivale events as well as developing and delivering Sponsorship and Partnership benefits and Return on Investment (ROI) initiatives.

The Carnivale is a nine-day celebration of the tropical lifestyle and region of the Douglas Shire that will take place from 17–26 May 2024. The event is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees and features a variety of performances, exhibitions, free family events, and independent events promoted under the Carnivale brand. The headline performance for the Carnivale is the Queensland Symphony Orchestra performing at Rex Smeal Park.

The successful applicant will report to Council’s People and Community Department, working closely with Council’s Events Officer and appointed Public Relations / Marketing Agency, and will be required to fulfill a range of tasks and deliverables as described.

Council is looking to engage suitably qualified companies or contractors with a keen interest in events, partnerships, and sponsorships to work with Council to provide a comprehensive plan to achieve funding targets for the delivery of the 2024 Carnivale.
