New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) is undertaking a tender for Forestry Management and Supervision of the NPDC owned Forest estate and Joint Ventures.

We are seeking responses from contractors who are based in Taranaki and are able to undertake day to day management and supervision of the Joint Venture and Council owned Forests and be on call at short notice to respond to unforeseen events.

It is expected that the contractor will be "hands-on" and will undertake a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to, pest control, weed management, liaison with forest users and neighbours, provision of site inductions to anyone working in the forests, removal of rubbish and clearing wind-thrown trees.

In addition to working in the Council forests, from time to time we undertake projects across the district on council land that may require small harvests of pine or native forests, and we may seek advice and support from the Forestry Manager for the benefit of our Project Managers undertaking these projects. In summary, we are looking for a "forestry superstar".
