Tender Description

Southern Ports was formed in 2014, following the amalgamation of the Ports of Albany, Bunbury and Esperance under the Port Authorities Act 1999 (WA) and subsequently the Government Trading Enterprises Act 2023 (WA). Southern Ports is a Western Australian Government Trading Enterprise whose sole shareholder is the Government of Western Australia.

Southern Ports' main functions are to:

  1. facilitate trade within and through its ports and to plan for future growth and development of the ports.
  2. undertake or arrange for activities that will encourage and facilitate the development of trade and commerce generally for the economic benefit of the State of Western Australia through the use of the port and related facilities.
  3. be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ports; and
  4. protect the environment of the ports and minimise the impact of port operations on that environment.

The Port of Bunbury (Port) is located 150km south of Perth within the City of Bunbury.

The Port currently has two bulk product stockpiling sheds (Shed 8.3 and Shed 8.5) located behind Berth 8 that are currently leased to 31 October 2024. In order to assess market interest for use of Sheds 8.3 and/or 8.5 at the Port from 1 November 2024, Southern Ports is seeking Expressions of Interest from the market (Request).
