The Wellington Shire Council is the Committee of Management for the Stratford on the River Tourist Park pursuant to the Crown Land (reserves) Act 1978.

The Stratford on the River Tourist Park is located on the banks of the Avon River, next door the Stratford Community Pool and is 5-minute walk from the town centre of Stratford. Stratford is a charming village which came into existence as a result of livestock and dairy farming as well as horse breeding in the district. Today, Stratford is distinguished by its inviting rail cycleways, an enticing Arts Trail, quaint cafes, the delightful Apex Park nestled beside the meandering river, and an annual Shakespeare on the River Festival, commemorating its namesake town in Warwickshire, England.

Stratford is also a great staging post to explore the world-famous Ninety Mile Beach and the Gippsland Lakes. Stratford is easily accessible and is a 2 ¾ hour drive from Melbourne-hour drive on the Princes Highway.

The mixed-use park offers a range of accommodation options including powered and unpowered sites and permanents.

The caravan park occupies a rectangular shaped parcel of Crown Land with frontage above the Avon River. The park entrance is steep but then moves to a flat area with established tree coverage.

The caravan park site is approximately 1.5 hectares and is a great starting point for the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail, an essentially flat 63km rail trail that starts in Traralgon and finishes in Stratford.

Wellington Shire Council seeks to appoint a dynamic tenant with the appropriate skills, experience and ability to manage and operate the Stratford River Tourist Park located at 2-16 McMillan St, Stratford VIC 3862 (the Park).

The Tennant will be required to fund and undertake Capital Works at the Park to ensure the ongoing development of this local asset, as well as provide the necessary Plant and Equipment to operate the park.
