The City of Mitcham (“Council”) invites tenders for the provision of reconstruction of the George Street vehicle bridge and associated roadworks as part of its Capital Works Construction Program 2023/2024 (the “Works”). The site is located at the intersection of George Street/Clifton Street, Hawthorn. The bridge is crossed by Brownhill Keswick Creek. The existing structure is a concrete and steel structure and is to be replaced with pre-cast concrete culverts and one section to be in-situ concrete culvert.

The existing pedestrian bridge will be removed as part of these works, the detailed design for the culvert upgrades incorporates pedestrian access over the creek. Of particular note is that the linear habitat, waterway and indigenous vegetation will need to be managed with minimal impacts.
