Tender Description
Tenders are invited for streetscape works at Memorial Drive and Lonergan Lane Eumundi.
In 2020, Council began the consultation process for Eumundi Town Centre Placemaking Masterplan.
As part of this intensive consultation process, the community decided to strengthen Memorial Drive as a community heart, main public space and local economic centre. The design is seen as responding to community feedback and reflecting place and community values.
The result of community engagement and the subsequent design is to create a pedestrian friendly street by improving footpaths, making it safer to cross the street, slowing traffic and improving access for everyone.
The Project is structured into three Stages:
- Stage 1 and 2 works is located on Memorial Drive and spans between the intersection of Etheridge Stret and Gridley Street; and
- Stage 3 works is located within Lonergan Lane.
The program of works will achieve:
- Construction of two raised pedestrian crossings;
- Replacement of existing footpaths with enhanced paths;
- Resurfaced pavement at Lonergan Lane;
- Soft and hard landscaping including an arbour and wayfinding signage;
- Associated lighting and electrical;
- Associated service alterations;
- Prioritisation for pedestrians;
- The creation of places to dwell and meet.
