Tender Description

Newly appointed first-time principals attend a tailored induction program. Following completion, they are supported through an ongoing professional learning and development program, designed to strengthen their leadership practice for improved impact within their school contexts.

The program for newly appointed principals requires a bespoke design to meet the needs of a large and diverse NSW public education system and the complexity of each school within it.

The School Leadership Institute provides world-class, evidence informed, future-focused leadership development programs that are highly evaluated and reviewed by peer groups, academic institutions, and international experts. Each program is co-designed and co-delivered by an academic partner.

Successful implementation of the SLI programs will deliver on the NSW Government’s directive to strengthen a pipeline of school leaders and significantly enhance the department’s support for school leaders so they can focus on leading teaching and learning in their schools. The delivery of this procurement piece plays a pivotal role in the suite of leadership programs delivered by the SLI leadership development continuum.

The current contract for this program implemented by SLI will conclude at the beginning of 2025. This procurement request is to secure an appropriate partner to co-design and deliver the next iteration of this program with the SLI.

The successful respondent will:

  • Co-design and co-deliver the program with the SLI, embedding evidence-informed, future-focused, world-class research, theory and practice on school leadership development.
  • Provide a program based on a model of student-centred leadership.
  • Design a program intended to be implemented over a period of three school terms per cohort to embed theory, practice and reflection of impact.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NSW DoE schools and system.
  • Administer a web-based platform to provide participants with access to program materials including session recordings beyond the program’s conclusion.
  • Provide evaluation mechanisms to measure participants’ learning and impact on leadership practice.
  • Provide group reports on the evaluation of the program’s impact on leadership practice.
  • Ensure DoE data storage and guidelines are met.
