Waste Management Services - Wood Power Poles

⁠⁠⁠The Scope

Western Power produces a range of waste materials during its operation and requires professional services to dispose of waste in accordance with all guidelines and relevant legislation.

Western Power is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for disposal or recycling of wood power poles and associated equipment.

Services required would include:

• Acceptance of waste
• Waste Disposal - Disposal of Class II, Class III and Class IV
• Processing – Segregation, metal removal, pole butt removal
• Testing, sampling and reporting
• Transportation
• Bins
• Waste stream management and assistance

EOI Requirements

Organisations are required to respond to the following for the EOI submission:

• Demonstrate track record and capability in delivering Waste Management Services in relation to the high-level scope requirements stated above:
• Include a brief history of the company addressing the period of time operating, the number of full-time employees and the principal location of the company.
• List of any current contracts delivering comparable works within the last five years.
• Demonstrated understanding of the preservation and treatments used on wood power poles and managing these in waste management.
• Provide details on any proposed subcontractor that would be used:
• confirm relationship (if currently in existence) with subcontractors (i.e., term of the relationship, how often the subcontractor has previously been utilised); and
• outline which part(s) of service delivery will be subcontracted.
• Reference from at least three customers who have been offered similar services.
• Demonstrate best practice in the contribution to a Circular Economy and diversion from landfill.
