Mount Barker District Council invites Tenders from Tenderers for the Rehabilitation of Manholes using Intercrete. The Council will enter into a Minor Works Agreement with the successful Tenderer, for the completion of the programmes for the initial term of 2023/24 and possible extensions for 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years (see Location Maps).
Mount Barker District Council runs a manhole rehabilitation program to repair & treat manholes prior to failure. Each year 10 - 15 manholes are targeted based on their condition rating. Rehabilitation involves the thorough cleaning to remove corroded concrete, reinstatement of concrete using Intercrete prior to applying a protective layer of Intercrete to prevent corrosive gasses from attacking the repaired surface. It is expected that the refurbishment will extend the life of a manhole by a minimum of 20 years.
