Tender Description
A spare transformer is required for Manapouri power station to align with a company strategy. This may however be increased from a single unit order to a maximum of three units.
Meridian Energy Limited requires the goods and services including, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Design of a 13.8 / 220 kV 135 MVA three-phase, three-winding power transformer to fit within any one of the eight transformer vaults (seven service locations plus spare vault) taking into consideration all existing site constraints and interfaces. Further technical
specifications can be found in Appendix 3;
2. Preparation and submission of design report;
3. Hosting design review meeting at factory;
4. Manufacture of one transformer (potential muti unit order)
5. Hosting QA visits to factory by Meridian (including winding assembly, factory acceptance
testing etc) for the transformer.
6. Transport of transformer from the factory to the Manapouri hydropower station below- ground powerhouse; and
7. Providing a competent technical advisor on site during the assembly and installation of the transformer.
This RFP is the first stage of a two stage procurement process. Those respondents that have the capability of meeting Meridian's requirement and has the capacity to do so within Meridian's required timeframes will, subject to Meridian's reserved rights, be invited to respond to a further (closed) request for tender.
Meridian reserves the right to proceed directly to negotiation and contract award if a respondent is deemed to have submitted a technically and commercially viable offer and can fulfil Meridian's requirement.
