The scope of work for this project covers the replacement of an existing culvert structure and the approach pavements 13.4km from Holbrook at Wantagong, NSW.

This structure is the first of five existing creek crossings which have been assessed as not meeting the load capacity requirements for future HML traffic and will need to be replaced.

Traffic flow must be maintained at all times during construction; 24 hour traffic signals allowing single lane, one way traffic would be an acceptable solution. To assist in this regard Council will make available an additional 9.6m of crown units. This should allow traffic to be phased onto a structure consisting of a combination of temporary and permanent units at one stage of construction.

Items in the tender BOQ allow for the construction of an extended permanent base slab to accept these temporary crown units. This slab will remain in place at the completion of the works forming an extended apron type structure on which to cast the wing walls. Temporary crown units should be returned to the Council Holbrook depot upon completion.

All work must be carried out in compliance with the NSW Fisheries Works on Waterways permit. It is a condition of this permit that construction does not commence prior to January/February 2024.

A non-compulsory pre-tender meet will be held on site at 2pm Thursday 24 August, 2023.

The meeting place will be adjacent to Serpentine Creek.

Tenderers may inspect the site at any time and are strongly urged to do so if unable to attend the scheduled meeting.
