Googong Water Treatment Plant Asset Renewals on behalf of Icon Water
Tender ID: 534551
Tender Details
Tender Description
Googong Water Treatment Plant (GWTP) is a critical facility for maintaining water supply to Icon Water's service area. The plant is at risk of unexpected shutdown due to failure of multiple mechanical assets which are reaching an unserviceable condition. This project is to undertake asset renewal of mechanical assets associated with the following systems:
- Polymer Feed Pumps
- Filters
- Washwater Supply
- Utility Water
- Reclaimed Washwater
- Flash Mix tank
- Contact Mixing Basin
- Filter Gallery.
The Googong Water Treatment Plant (GWTP) is held in standby mode for most of the year, serving as a critical back up facility to the Stromlo Water Treatment Plant (SWTP); the primary WTP for the ACT region. The GWTP is operational during the annual shutdown of the SWTP for two months from September, and during when seasonal demand fluctuations arise. Therefore, the GWTP is required to maintain the ability for rapid operational activation within 24 hours at any time.
The asset renewal works are expected to be undertaken during the standby mode of the GWTP with completion expected before the next SWTP shutdown which is likely to be in September 2024.
Icon Water invites suitably qualified Vendors to submit a Tender for the renewals of various mechanical assets that have reached the end of their service life at Googong WTP.
