Kerbside Collection and Disposal of Domestic Waste

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited for the collection and disposal of domestic waste within and outside the Katherine Municipality (Area) with the option of providing a recycling service (including collection).

1. The collection and disposal of domestic waste within the area shall be carried out in a safe manner and under the provisions of the Local Government Act and the Bylaws and this Contract shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the said Act and the By-laws.

2. The Contractor must also ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and Codes of Practice, including but not limited to the:

- Environmental Assessment Act (NT) and Regulations.

- Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Act (NT)

- Traffic Act (NT);

- Waste Management and Pollution Control Act (NT) and Regulations.

- Work Health Act (NT) and Regulations; and, all regulations, by-laws, awards, codes and/or guidelines pursuant to any of such Acts and any enactments in lieu of such Acts as may be repealed and all directions and requirements of any competent authorities.
