Tender Description
We are seeking a suitable contractor, with extensive fire services engineering experience, to liaise with the Country Fire Service, SA Water, and Council to complete a site-specific fire hydrant system to meet current building code requirements.
The existing hall structure was constructed in the early 1980s. Comprising of a single-story brick hall with a pitched roof and metal profiled sheet covering. The hall is located within a bushfire risk area (BAL rating 19+) and is extensively used by local community clubs. An asset condition and compliance audit undertaken in December 2020 by TMK Consulting Engineers (appendix 4.6), identified the need for a compliant on-site hydrant system, the report notes a building floor greater than 500m2 with no existing on-site hydrant provision. The report identifies an existing fire hose reel located centrally within the main hall, providing adequate coverage to the building (the water source for the fire hose reel is not identified in the TMK audit).
